PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The purpose of this unit standard is to ensure that credited learners are able to capture, assess and maintain information on the National Traffic Information System. The use of the National Traffic Information Systems is to regulate and monitor driving licences, permits, motor vehicle ownership, and to authorise vehicle roadworthiness thereby enhancing safety and security in society.

Learners credited against this unit standard are capable of:
  • Demonstrate knowledge relating to the National Road Transportation Act.
  • Perform transactions on the National Traffic Information System.

    An understanding is demonstrated of the relevant regulations of the National Road Transportation Act applicable to the National Traffic Information System.
