PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard is for learners within the bomb disposal, explosives, pyrotechnics, demolitions and blasting environment who need to have a practical understanding of blasting accessories such as detonators, detonating relays, igniter cords, safety fuses and shock tube assemblies. Learners will also understand the importance of manufacturer's specifications and legal prescripts when handling blasting accessories. The competencies achieved by the learner in this Unit Standard will not only lead to the improved safety of the learner during the handling of blasting accessories but will also lead to a safer society for South African citizens.
