PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The purpose of this unit standard is to enable Dice games to be paced so as to maximise revenue and enhance customer service and satisfaction. The successful learner must be able to use relevant technology and perform all tasks of the Dice gaming cycle in a quick and efficient manner.

On achievement of this unit standard the learner will understand and be able to:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the game of Dice.
  • Operate the game of Dice.
  • Take Dice bets and make payouts.
  • Handle players and unexpected situations in a professional manner in relation to the game of Dice.

    The extent of the game of dice is explained in terms of the other gaming activities.

    Range includes but is not limited to number of points, floor space, number of customers in relation to others, turn over, takings and payouts.

    A dice floor layout is described with reference to monitoring and surveillance of the game by staff and participants.

    The components of a game of Dice, including equipment, are outlined with reference to the role-players in the game and the seating/standing positions of each. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    All relevant terminology, the operating cycle and key aspects associated with the game of Dice, are understood and used when applicsble.

    The rules of the game of Dice are understood and explained with examples of what is and what isn't allowed.
