This unit standard supports the acquiring of the necessary skills and knowledge to facilitate the investigation of the Wholesale and Retail sector to enable the identification and selection of career path and employment opportunities in the sector.

Individuals credited with this unit standard will be able to distinguish between different career and employment opportunities through their understanding and knowledge of the Wholesale and Retail sector in order to make informed decisions in the selection of suitable employment opportunities at the onset of their envisaged career paths in the Wholesale and Retail environment.
