The scaiffe is located and levelled in the bench and is checked to ensure it runs smoothly, without vibration. Remedial action is taken in line with workplace specified requirements. |

The surface of the scaiffe is cleaned and any oil deposits are removed to meet workplace specific requirements. |

Powder and lubricants are used according to workplace procedures to assist in the process for polishing a diamond gemstone. |

The scaiffe is confirmed to be suitable for crossworking or brillianteering before commencement. Remedial action is taken in line with workplace specified requirements. |
