    Discuss the importance of the major social statistics data collected in the country.

    Social statistics data include but are not limited to health, education, disability, labour force, gender and poverty statistics.

    The data collected for each area of social statistics are described to reflect the information needs in that area.

    The relationship between different social statistics data is explained in order to show the implication to the socio-economic well being of the country.

    Different indicators of social development are described to reflect their relevance in determining well-being of the people.

    Estimates of the current figures of key social indicators are given to reflect the progress in social development.

    The surveys that are used to estimate key social indicators are identified and described in order assist in the interpretation of the indicators.

    The meaning of each National Development indicator is explained to shed light on the population.

    The National Development Goals indicators are calculated and interpreted in terms of population objectives.

    The implications and limitations of the indicators are stated in order to caution the use of the indicators.

    DevInfo data set is used to identify indicators and assess progress and prepare a report. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION NOTES 
    DevInfo is a powerful database system that is used to compile and disseminate data on human development. DevInfo was developed by UNICEF in cooperation with the UN System to assist the UN and Member States in tracking progress toward the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). 


    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
    The assessment will be governed by the policies and guidelines of the relevant Education and Training Quality Assuror (ETQA) that has jurisdiction over this field of learning.

    The assessor will (at the very least) be accredited and have a relevant qualification and be a subject matter expert in this learning area and at least have 3 years experience in the skills specific area, post qualification.
