PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A learner will be able to utilise the Track Warrant system of train control by receiving, identifying, verifying and reacting to tokens and will be able to conform to POSMOR and related organisational standards and procedures in a specific railway environment in order to contribute to safe movement on rail.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:
  • Demonstrating an elementary understanding of the Track Warrant system.
  • Communicating Track Warrant information.
  • Adhering to the en-route procedures.

    Track warrant system components are described in terms of their purpose and utilisation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Track warrant degrade and amendments are explained in terms of its cause or origin.

    The track warrant system functional test is conducted in accordance with organisational procedures.

    Radio communication is accessed to exchange track warrant information in accordance with radio operating instructions. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The track warrant information is transcribed onto the radio token register (operational) in accordance with organisational standards and procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The transcribed track warrant information is verified with the originator in accordance with organisational standards and procedures.

    Adhere to the en-route procedures.

    Crossing procedures at order station(s) are complied with in accordance with organisational standards and procedures.

    Train positions are communicated in accordance with organisational standards and procedures.

    Track warrant cancellations and amendments are reported in accordance with organisational standards and procedures.
