PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A learner will be able to administer the Radio Train Order system of train control by planning rail movement, issuing and registering tokens to conform to POSMOR and related train working rules in a specific railway environment and contribute to safe movement on rail.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:
  • Planning rail movement.
  • Making rail movement arrangements.
  • Authorising rail movement.
  • Communicating and recording train movement according to train working rules.

    Rail movement running times are calculated in terms of the gathered information.

    Rail movements are planned according to operational requirements.

    Information about movement is recorded in a train register in accordance with organisational procedures.
