PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The qualifying learner, on completion of this unit standard will demonstrate knowledge of the rules and regulations when officiating a sporting competition. This will be done in such a way that the outcome of the game/activity is dependant upon the skills of the participants, with minimum interference from the Technical Official, thus enhancing the enjoyment of the game/activity for participants, coaches and spectators. Competent qualifying learners will provide safe, quality and positive experiences to participants and spectators thereby strengthening and promoting sporting activities in general.
