PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
Learners qualifying against this unit standard will be able to coach the game of rugby to players with a good understanding of the sport. In addition, the learner will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the game of rugby, coaching the technical and strategic principles of the sport.
The leaner will be able to demonstrate the skills and competencies required to coach intermediate to advanced players in the skills of the sport and prepare teams for 15 man and sevens rugby. Learners qualifying against this unit standard may apply coaching skills in a school, community club or organisation in the capacity of performance level coaches, senior club and school coaches or Provincial Coaches.
