PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard is for people who work, or intend to work, in a yacht and boat building environment where an understanding of different inflatable boat types, layout and parts, requirements regarding materials, buoyancy and compartmentalisation, drainage, valves and methods of attachment of inflatable and rigid parts is required.
The learner will understand the specific requirements and technologies unique to inflatable boats. The requirements will be considered in relation to ISO and SANS standards for inflatable boats. This includes: |
