PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The purpose of the unit standard is for learners to be able to produce a portfolio of artwork in the context of presenting their work to a gallery, educational institution, potential buyer, or in any other marketing or promotional context. Portfolios of artwork are essential tools in promoting an artist's work, securing resources for exhibitions and projects, and accessing professional development opportunities such as residencies.
Visual artists equipped with this competence will contribute to the development of more professional, organised and productive working practices in the visual arts, which will in turn increase the contribution of the visual arts sector to the economy. Credited learners are capable of: |
