PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard covers the learning required to monitor the production processes for a range of polymer compound manufacturing products. It provides the necessary steps required to monitor the production process of polymer compound products.

Qualifying learners are able:
  • Determine product quality requirements in a polymer compound production process.
  • Conduct the necessary checks on manufacturing equipment to ensure functionality.
  • Visually inspect elements of the production process.
  • Discuss and explain incidents and problems resulting from the visual inspection of the production process and the quality of the product output.
