PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
Learners credited with this standard will have knowledge about grinding operations. Learners will perform general surface grinding operations, finishing operations and check the quality of components after grinding operations.

UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
The range of general surface grinding operations includes dressing grinding wheels, and grinding of surface of magnetic chuck, to opposite sides, flat and parallel, flat face and shoulder, two vertical faces parallel and central, angular face, slots, vees using a disk wheel or cup wheel, dovetail using a formed wheel, male or female radii, thin plate and slitting or cutting, plunge cutting. |
