PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is intended for people who maintain Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). A person credited with this unit standard will be able to manage and balance ATM cash, deal with ATM deposits and captured cards and perform the general housekeeping and maintenance of the ATM lobby and cubicle.

1. The ATM cash limits are adhered to when ordering cash in order to ensure optimum availability in accordance with company specific requirements. Evidence is required during peak and slack periods.

2. The ATM cash is balanced according to company specific requirements.

3. The ATM cash differences are traced and rectified according to company specific requirements.

3. Captured ATM cards are removed and disposed of according to company specific requirements.

3. Error messages and faults are identified and responded to immediately according to company specific requirements. Including but not limited to the range. 
ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
Canister faults, faulty card readers, low or empty cash, low or empty journal paper, low or empty receipt paper and low or empty deposit envelopes.
 


UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
1. Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.

2. Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this unit standard or assessing this unit standard must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA.

3. Moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant ETQA according to the moderation guidelines in the relevant qualification and the agreed ETQA procedures.

Therefore anyone wishing to be assessed against this unit standard may apply to be assessed by any assessment agency, assessor or provider institution which is accredited by the relevant ETQA.
