    UNIT STANDARD ESSENTIAL EMBEDDED KNOWLEDGE
Essential embedded knowledge is dealt with under the outcomes section where "demonstrated knowledge and understanding" is required.

    Critical Cross-field Outcomes (CCFO):

    UNIT STANDARD CCFO SCIENCE
Use science and technology effectively - relates to the following outcomes:
  • Given a maintenance problem with gaming machines, follow the correct procedures with minimum disruption to players.
  • Given a gaming machine, identify faults and decide whether or not to repair the machine or to arrange for the technical department to make the repair. Give reasons for the decision.
  • Follow the correct procedures for cleaning gaming machines.

  • UNIT STANDARD NOTES
Recommendations and Exemplars for the design of:

    Learning / Curriculum
  • Learning should include practise with all types of machines until the candidate can identify all faults and carry out minor repairs and basic maintenance in accordance with the range.
  • Learning should include familiarisation with all procedure manuals for gaming machines as well as the company maintenance reporting procedure.

    Performance systems
  • Ongoing measurement of the learner's ability to meet this standard is recommended.
