PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This is a core unit standard towards the National Certificate in Retail/Wholesale processes.

It is designed to facilitate access to a formal qualifaction for those who have experience in informal outlets (i.e. Spaza`s), while aligning practice to world retail standards 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Numeracy in the basic arithmetic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing to the equivalent of NQF 1. Basic spoken English to ABET 4.
