PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for persons responsible for receiving slurry and controlling deposition of the slurry onto an impoundment type tailings dam, controlling the pool and decanting the supernatant water. A person credited with this unit standard can:

  • Prepare to deposit tailings.
  • Deposit tailings using the impoundment method.
