Registered-data under construction The qualification content is currently being updated for the qualifications with the status “Registered-data under construction” or showing “DETAILS UNDER CONSTRUCTION” to ensure compliance with SAQA’S Policy and Criteria for the registration of qualifications and part-qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) (As amended, 2022). These qualifications are re-registered until 30 June 2027 and can legitimately be offered by the institutions to which they are registered. |

| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| This qualification is intended for persons who will make a contribution through independent research in a chosen field. The research problem, its justification, process and outcome is reported in a dissertation that complies with the generally accepted norms for research at that level. They will also demonstrate a high level of overall knowledge in that area, ranging from fundamental concepts to advanced theoretical or applied knowledge. |

Two: A research project is successfully completed in Diagnostic Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Oncology or Ultrasound (85). 1. 1. The listed and cited literature reflects familiarity with relevant and recent trends in technologies, techniques, models and theories in the chosen field. 2. Models, principles, theories, techniques and methodologies in the chosen field are analysed, explained and used correctly in oral presentations and the written record of research. Two: 1. Appropriate and wide sources are located. Information is analysed and choices are made. Information is synthesised. 2. Appropriate theory and methods are chosen and described. The choices of methods and theories are explained and justified. 3. The research process is successfully managed. The research process is carried out mostly independently from the supervisor. 4. The appropriate data analysis is applied. 5. The dissertation is coherently written. | While South Africa still had Technikons, all of their qualifications were registered under the Committee of Technikon Principals (CTP). After the Technikons became Universities of Technology or merged with Universities, the qualifications were registered under each of these institutions, and the CTP qualifications fell away (hence the end date of 2006, above).
