  • The unit is aimed the intermediate level and a well- rounded and systematic knowledge base.
  • The scope of this unit standard includes, but is not confined to human rights issues as stipulated in the Constitution of South Africa and the Bill of rights. A range of Issues such as the freedom of religion, gender, sexual orientation and sexuality, abuse, poverty, racism and warfare should be included.
  • "Religion" may indicate a specific denomination (e.g. the Church of the Province of South Africa), a socio-historical development affecting a number of denominations (e.g. fundamentalism), a specific religion (e.g. Hinduism) or a set of religions that can be shown to be historically and/or thematically related (e.g. the monotheistic religions).
