PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to identify and select the correct tools and components to construct an exhibition stand. They are also able to construct the stand according to health and safety standards and ensure the quality of the work done meets the requirements of the exhibitor and is done within an agreed time frame

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Identifying and selecting commonly used tools and equipment
  • Checking that all components are available on site
  • Describing various components and assembly techniques
  • Constructing, assembling and dismantling the exhibition stand according to instructions and specified time frames
  • Checking quality and finishing's according to correct standards
  • Applying housekeeping principles

    It is assumed that learners accessing this unit standard will have demonstrated competence in Computer Literacy, Mathematical Literacy, Communication at NQF level 3 or equivalent.

    Exhibition stand components are assessed and requirements are determined for assembling and dismantling in accordance with organisational requirements.

    Assembly and dismantling equipment is collected throughout the exhibition within required time frame.

    Exhibition stand is assembled and constructed and dismantle in a safe manner and in line with site safety procedures and regulations.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this unit standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
