PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to monitor overseas orders and shipment progress in order to establish cargo whereabouts. Learners will also be capable of obtaining clearance and delivery instructions and processing the necessary import documentation to ensure all clearance problems are dealt with. Learners will also be able to process the release of imported goods, ensure final delivery is done and that proof of delivery is obtained and recorded.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Planning import clearances.
  • Administering import document flows.
  • Facilitating import upliftment and delivery procedures. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Learners accessing this qualification will be assumed competent in:
  • Communication at NQF Level 2 or equivalent.

    Shipment details are recorded in the clearing organisations tracking systems.
