PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The qualifying learner will be capable of handing over a manufacturing operation or a part of a manufacturing operation for which he or she is responsible, to another person, ensuring that the manufacturing activities or maintenance continue in accordance with instructions and best practice. This promotes team work in the workplace, safety and productivity to the benefit of the learner, co-workers, employer and economy. |
LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING |
The learner must be competent to carryout all the manufacturing work required in the specific learning environment and have appreciation (knowledge) of quality, productivity, health, safety and the environment concerning his or her work activities.
The learner must be able to communicate effectively using verbal and written (paper and or computer based) as applicable at the site where learning takes place. |

The Educational Training Quality Assurance Body (ETQA), for the Chemical Industry in consultation with GEN/FETQA will accredit providers offering learning towards this standard and will register assessors. They will also appoint the internal and external moderators. |
