PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The qualifying learner is capable of:
Identifying and describing types and features of reinforcing drawings, using plans to locate features and structures on site, determining project requirements and planning work sequences.

Learners who are assessed as competent against this unit standard will be able to work on a construction site and are required to interpret reinforcing drawings and apply that interpretation to reinforcing tasks. In addition to the above learners will be able to identify and describe different types and features of reinforcing drawings, use plans to locate structures on-site, determine requirements and plan work sequences.

It contributes to socio-economic transformation in that learners will be able to undergo RPL assessment and receive recognition for previous learning and experience. The employability and career prospects of learners can therefore be enhanced by this unit standard.
