PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is intended for individuals who are responsible for uplifting goods from wholesalers and retailers on behalf of their own company or a third party. Persons credited with this unit standard will be able to uplift goods according to the procedures laid down by the relevant wholesaler/retailer, their own organisation/s and the relevant manufacturer/s, ensuring that potential losses to all parties are minimised.

    Reasons for conducting an uplift of goods are explained as they apply to the supplier.

    The impact of goods uplifts on various stakeholders is explained as they impact on the wholesaler/retailer, merchandising organisation and supplier.

    Damaged and expired stock is accurately identified as it applies to the supplier. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    The concept of swell allowances is explained as it applies to the wholesale and retail industry.

    Stores and products affected by swell allowances are identified as applicable to the products of the applicable merchandising organisation.

    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
    Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA or an ETQA, which has a MOU with the relevant ETQA. Moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant ETQA, according to the moderation guidelines in the relevant qualification and the agreed ETQA procedures.
