PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
People in the field of manufacturing and engineering require the skills, values and knowledge reflected in this unit standard. The learning outcomes in this unit standard also contribute to the exit level outcomes required for various manufacturing and engineering qualifications. The learner is capable of preparing a test cell and to mount, connect and test an engine on a dynamometer and to record and submit the test results. This will contribute to the exit level outcomes required for the National Certificate in automotive repair and maintenance and related qualifications. |
LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING |
This unit standard has been designed as part of a progression. It is one of a series of unit standards for maintaining vehicles in the field of manufacturing and engineering. It is assumed that the learner has already learned the use of engineering hand tools, workshop equipment, power tools and measuring equipment, and to remove vehicle drive train components. |
UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
The ranges as indicated under the specific outcomes determine the scope and level of this unit standard.
