PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard is for persons required to provide intervention to community members of similar cultural background and mother tongue and who have disabilities and or chronic diseases that prevent them from moving around. The unit standard will enable the person to help prevent a client's joints from becoming stiff and deformed, muscles from becoming weak, stiff and painful and help the client move around during everyday activities.

Fundamental anatomy and physiology of musculo-skeletal and nervous systems are explained in relation to the normal accepted functions of muscles, joints and the nervous system. |

The stages of progression of HIV/AIDS and the role of movement at each stage is described in basic terms. |
