PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard is for persons required to render care and manage clients and significant others at home and to provide relevant information to clients and significant others. The learner will have a fundamental knowledge of the diseases common to the learners' working environment.

The care will take place under the direct and indirect mentorship and supervision of a professional with relevant health care knowledge and experience.
This unit standard applies to persons rendering care and assistance within the home environment. Home may be defined in a variety of ways, e.g. all types of care including community care institutions. |
