PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners who are assessed as competent against this unit standard will be able to handle a range of site administration functions, including the maintenance of records and the implementation of personnel administration and reporting systems. These competencies complement the other core supervisory competencies and contribute to the development of a professional community of Building Construction Supervisors.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:
  • Maintaining site records.
  • Implement personnel administration.
  • Implementing reporting systems.
  • Measure and calculate quantities.
  • Attend meetings and provide feedback.

  • Instructions and variation orders, Site diary, Correspondence, Contract documents and drawings, Drawing control system, Personnel records, Health and Safety records, Plant, equipment, tools and materials records, Quality records, Activity reports and Environmental records.

    Records are maintained to ensure ease of retrieval according to organizational procedures.

    The purpose and nature of construction related reports are explained in terms of organizational requirements and quality control.

    The required data for reports are compiled and verified according to organizational procedures.

    Reports are compiled in the required format and within given time frame according to organizational procedures.

    Range of work processes for which reports are compiled include, but are not limited to:
  • Resources, costing, productivity, quality and variances.

    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
  • Anyone assessing a learner or moderating the assessment of a learner against the qualification must be registered as an assessor with the relevant Education, Training, Quality, Assurance (ETQA) Body, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Any institution offering learning that will enable the achievement of this qualification must be accredited as a provider with the relevant Education, Training, Quality, Assurance (ETQA) Body, or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Assessment and moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant Education, Training, Quality, Assurance (ETQA) Body, or by an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA, according to the ETQA's policies and guidelines for assessment and moderation.
  • Moderation must include both internal and external moderation of assessments, unless ETQA policies specify otherwise. Moderation should also encompass achievement of the competence described in the associated unit standards.
  • Anyone wishing to be assessed against this qualification may apply to be assessed by any assessment agency, assessor or provider institution that is accredited by the relevant ETQA.
