    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The personal protective clothing and equipment that should be used while managing the cut rose canopy is identified and described in terms of company procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The potential hazards of using secateurs are described in terms of the injuries that may occur while managing the cut rose canopy. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The safe use of secateurs to manage the cut rose canopy is demonstrated in accordance with the company's procedures.

    The necessity of maintaining sharp secateurs for the cut rose canopy development is explained in terms of the quality of cut that is effected. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The consequences of using blunt secateurs during the management of the cut rose canopy are described in terms of the effect this may have on the health of the rose bush when the stems are damaged. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    The method of sharpening secateurs with a honing tool to ensure a "clean" cut is achieved is demonstrated in accordance with the company's procedures.

    The cleaning and lubrication of secateurs are explained and demonstrated in accordance with the company's procedures.

    The environment and storage conditions in which secateurs and other rose equipment should be stored after use is described in terms of company procedures.

    The importance of removing debris from the work place is explained in terms of the necessity to maintain a tidy and pest free environment.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The importance of maximizing the leaf area of a rose is explained in terms of the purpose of ensuring adequate photosynthesis and food production. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The consequences of neglecting the leaf coverage are described in regard to the detrimental effect that this has on the development of the plant. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Photosynthesis is explained in terms of the role it plays in chlorophyll production and its effect on the whole plant. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    The benefits of maximising the leaf area in the cut rose canopy is explained in respect of the positive relationship that this has on flower production. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    The process of transporting nutrients and water to the canopy and the rest of the plant is explained in terms of the manner in which this aids the promotion and formation of flowers. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 6 
    The vital function of nutrients within the plant is described in terms of the role that it plays in the promotion of stem and flower growth.

    The reasons why apical dominance should be controlled is explained in terms of the need to regulate the form of the canopy and the method of achieving this through the process of bending the stem is demonstrated in accordance with the company's procedures.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The reasons why blooms with short stems are removed from the canopy is explained in terms of their lower value and their nutrient usage. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The consequences of leaving inferior blooms on the canopy is described in regard to the negative effects that this has on further flower production. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The process assessing a cut rose canopy is explained with regards to the various factors that must be considered. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    The reasons for bending thin upright stems back towards the canopy are explained and the procedures to effect this are demonstrated in accordance with the company's procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    The occasions when stems should be tied down are explained and the procedures for achieving this are demonstrated in accordance with the company's procedures. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 5 
    Conduct regular inspection and maintenance of the cut rose canopy.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The necessity to inspect and maintain the cut rose canopy on a regular basis is explained in regards to the purpose of maintaining and enhancing the quality of the plant.

    Incidences of chemical damage or fertiliser burn on the cut roses are described in respect to the type of damage that is indicated on the plant. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 7 
    The regular maintenance procedures and the routines that should be followed are demonstrated in accordance with the company's procedures.

    The regular pest control practices are demonstrated in accordance with the company's procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 9 
    The importance of immediately reporting any problem that is evident with the cut rose plants is explained in terms of the consequences that may occur if the problem is not resolved as soon as possible.
