This unit standard will be useful to people who wish to understand the mission of the Church and help the Church to grow.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: discuss and analyse the growth of the Christian community recorded in the New Testament; review and evaluate present-day approaches to church growth in relation to Christian mission; and recommend an approach to church growth in a specific context. |

The analysis identifies methods of growth of the Christian community recorded in the New Testament, in keeping with Biblical scholarship. |

Methods of growth include - methods by which Jesus enlisted his disciples, methods that Jesus instructed the apostles to use in making disciples, methods by which the Apostolic church expanded. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 |
The analysis accounts for the variety of methods by which the Christian community grew, as recorded in the New Testament. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 |
The analysis distinguishes between growth due to intentional strategy of the Christian community and that attributable to other reasons. |
