PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A learner will be able to utilise the Wooden Train Staff system of train control by receiving, identifying, verifying and reacting to tokens and warning advices and will be able to conform to POSMOR and related train working rules in a specific railway environment in order to contribute to safe movement on rail.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:
  • Explaining the use of the wooden train staff system of train control.
  • Adhering to the specific instructions on the wooden train staff system.
  • Complying with the pre-determined train arrangement at unattended places.
