PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
This qualification is registered at level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework. It provides learners with the opportunity to access learning in Agri Sales and Service Management, which include opportunities for learners to grow in the field of Agri Trade Management.
Learners will be able to combine fundamental, core and elective unit standards in order to gain competence linked to best practice. Learners will, once qualified and assessed as competent, be able to demonstrate competence in principles of local and international trade, managing transactions, promotional strategies, stock and financial decision-making. Learners will also demonstrate an understanding of broader business management principles such as budget control and cost allocation, work place supervision, labour relations and performance management. |
LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING |
Learners will have attained a qualification at NQF level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework or will have demonstrated competence at this level through recognition of prior learning.

ASSOCIATED ASSESSMENT CRITERIA |
INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT:
Learners will produce evidence of the following: * Verbal and written explanations of reasons for following operational- and work site procedure as well as statutory requirements. * Demonstrations of a range of administrative measures ensuring compliance to stock management principles, cash and credit management as well as basic principles of local and international trade. * Demonstrations of a range of management measures ensuring compliance, performance management and labour relations. * Demonstrations of a range of business management principles, including marketing- and promotional principles, risk management and financial- and managerial accounting principles. |
INTERNATIONAL COMPARABILITY |
This qualification is comparable to the equivalent Nieu Zealand qualification. |
MODERATION OPTIONS |
Anyone assessing a learner against this qualification must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.
Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this qualification, or assessment against this qualification must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA. Moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant ETQA according to agreed ETQA procedures. Therefore anyone wishing to be assessed against this qualification may apply to be assessed by any assessment agency, assessor or provider institution, which is accredited by the relevant ETQA. |

As per the SAQA Board decision/s at that time, this qualification was Reregistered in 2012; 2015. |
NOTES |
As per the SAQA decision to re-register all provider-based qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework that meet the criteria for re-registration, this qualification has been re-registered from 1 July 2018. 1. This qualification is compiled of unit standards from different fields of learning as well as from SETA"S within those fields of learning.
2. Unit standards developed by the SGB for Secondary Agriculture are unique and contain no symbol next to them. 3. Unit standards from other fields of learning are identified by a symbol, to indicate from which field of learning or SETA they are taken. The legend for the different symbols are: The Unit Standard, Business Communication level 5, as well as the Unit Standards from the field of Mathematical Literacy level 5, are not developed yet |
